Team InnoValley
The InnoValley initiative is led by a dedicated team from the Oeiras Municipality’s Science & Innovation Department, in collaboration with key partners from the Oeiras Academic Ecosystem. Together, we work closely with industry experts, startup advisors, and academic leaders to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and ensure the success of our initiatives. Our mission is to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact, supporting groundbreaking ideas that shape the future.
Pedro Pedrosa holds a PhD in Molecular Biosciences from the NOVA University of Lisbon and currently works as Translational Portfolio Manager at InnOValley. Pedro is responsible for monitoring translation projects, supporting and managing patents to enhance the transfer of technology and innovation; and manages the Flagship Programme InnOValey Proof-of-Concept Fund. He has worked at a NOVA startup (NANO4GLOBAL) dedicated to creating new diagnostic methods. Pedro was also the President of an NGO (WACT – We Are Changing Together) that works in social entrepreneurship. Pedro believes in changing the world through science, and that innovation is his way to impact society.
Sara Baptista holds a PhD in Microbiology and Parasitology from the University of Lisbon and MPH in Politics and Health Administration from NOVA University. Sara has also a degree in Nursing, with almost 15 years of experience at the main pediatric hospital in Portugal. She currently works as a Contracts and Marketing Manager at InnOValley, since 2022. Sara is responsible for the drafting and revision of all innovation agreements, liaising the Flagship Programme InnOValey Proof-of-Concept Fund, and managing daily marketing and communication efforts for the InnOValley. She also coordinates social media updates and content. Sara was the 2018-19 Next Einstein Forum Ambassador for Cape Verde, and she is passionate about the potential of Innovation as a driver for human health promotion and social change.
